No matter how hard we try to keep Micah away from sitting in front of the TV, he always ends up either sitting or standing right in front of it playing with the cable box or video games. His other fav spot is sitting in front of our patio window/slider door. I cleaned up our patio so that he can play outside now which is fun. :)
Micah has three teeth on the bottom and has at least one coming in on top. They seemed to be giving him a rough time yesterday as he was really grouchy all day. The only thing that cheered him up yesterday was swimming in the pool. Now that it is hot out, we are going to be swimming a lot and going to the beach! He absolutely loves being outside so much. We are so blessed that Kev is now off for the summer! We have been having some long over due quality time as a family. We are all loving it!
We are going to have Micah's picture professionally taken on Monday which i am so excited about! I'm not sure what to dress him in though. I will need to find something.

Growing Baby Boy

Our little Micah is growing sooo fast! He is officially crawling as of last week. He gets faster and stronger each day, so he is really keeping us on our toes! We just cleaned up our patio so that Micah can play outside. All he wants to do is play outside and be outside every day. He had so much fun playing in the dirt at the park on Tuesday. :) His first word is da-da but he isn't intentional when he says it. :)
Our family is keeping busy! Kev is finishing up the baseball season and I am just working hard at cleaning our place, taking care of little Micah, and working part time. Time sure is flying by! I am looking forward to lots of fun summer days at the beach and in the pool, and fun picnics at the park! I am so thankful for time with my family, especially during these busy times! The Lord has really blessed us.

These are pics of Micah's first day at the beach. The water was really cold, so he wasn't too excited about that, but other then that he LOVED it. It was a beautiful day!

It's A Boy!!! Amber and Sherry already each have babies: Amber has Teagan, and Sherry has Jayden. Both of them are the cutest ever! I remember when we were starting to walk on the boardwalk on the south side of the pier, Sherry and Amber were walking in front with their strollers and Amy and I were walking behind them. I remember saying something like: "One day Amy and I will have babies in strollers too! Then we can all walk together!" Later on our walk I was talking to Sherry about how she felt when she first found out she was pregnant and many of the symptoms she was having sounded similar to what I was feeling, but it was still so early that I didn't want to read into it too much. After our walk, I went up to Amy's apt. to hang out for a bit. She had purchased some 99 cent pregnancy tests from the 99 cent store, and suggested that I take one for fun. =) So, I took it! When I first looked at it, just the first line popped up. So I went and got Amy to show her, and when we looked at it together, a faint second line popped up! It was so amazing and shocking! I definitely cried and Amy did too! It was an amazing day.
After I left Amy's, I went to Target and bought some tests to make sure the results were accurate. So I took two more tests, and set them with the 99 cent one from Amy's, on the bathroom counter before Kevin got home. I left them on the counter for him to see after he got out of the shower that night. After trying to hint to him about 3 times, I ended up having to point them out to him, but he couldn't believe it when he read them. He said: "Are you serious?!?" It was such a surreal day. That night we were off to the elder retreat for the weekend, which was an amazing blessing to us because even though none of the women knew I was pregnant, God totally spoke through all of them to me about His faithfulness to all of them. I couldn't have asked for a better 4 year wedding anniversary present! God always gives the best and only perfect gifts!
What is even cooler (as if God couldn't possibly be more amazing) is my friend Amy found out she was pregnant 6 weeks later!!! She had been wanting to get pregnant for a while, and trusted that God was in control. Today she finds out if it is a boy or a girl! Can't wait to hear! Before she found out she was pregnant I read in the book of Luke about the births of John the Baptist and Jesus, and their mom's interactions before hand. It really is such a neat story to read when pregnant, it is so encouraging. I remember walking with Amy that day and we had a really good talk about the Lord. Its amazing how God orchestrates our lives in such magical, loving ways.
Throughout my whole pregnancy I have just been marveling at who God is, and how there is no one or thing like Him in this world or universe! "For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen." Romans 11:36
Kevin and I couldn't be more excited or thankful for this amazing miracle that God has blessed us with--a son. We are so blessed! Thank you Jesus!!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://themarchaels.blogspot.com/2009/07/its-boy-micah-zacharias-marchael.html' title='It's A Boy!!! The Walter Hoving Home is a non-denominational Christian women's home that takes in women who have drugs and/or alcohol addictions, have been in prostitution, or any other kind of slavery. They teach the women about Jesus, give them a secure place to live, and teach them spiritual disciplines and different skills. God has totally redeemed her from her former addictions, and as she trusts in him he is totally blessing her more each day. It has been so powerful watching God take ahold of her heart and life, completely changing her and restoring her. John and Elise Benton are the founders of the Walter Hoving Home. They have led so many people to the Lord...I don't know if I have ever been so inspired by anyone before! Walter Hoving was actually the head of Tiffany & Company from 1955 to 1980. He was very successful, and gave God the glory saying that God lead him through his entire career. He helped raise money for the New York home, so the Benton's named the organization after him. I have been so blessed watching Kev's mom grow in the Lord, and I have been so blessed visiting her at the Walter Hoving home. God is truly alive there, and I have really seen how God blesses disciplined leaders. I have never been so inspired by anyone I have ever met, like I have by the Bentons. Kevin and I were amazed last night on our way home. God is so powerful. It is so awesome to see how he blesses those that love him and listen to him, and how he uses them as vessels to transform the world.

Kevin =)

Oakhurst

Kevin and I just got back from spending a week up North in Oakhurst with the Ashcrafts. We had so much fun I didn't want to come home. We were so blessed by their hospitality and generosity. On Monday, we went hiking in Yosemite. Our plan was to hike to Vernal Falls and Nevada Falls, but when we were done with the two, we decided to go further. I was thinking "sure, we can go a little further" but also considered that we would also have to walk all the way back! Anyhow, we ended up getting about a mile away from Half Dome and then we had to turn around because we didn't have enough water. All in all we walked a total of 15 miles that day and it was the hardest hike of my life. Yosemite is so majestic and beautiful. God has made his presence so plain to us through his creation. All I could think about the whole time we were there was how powerful God is and how in control he is.
Tuesday Kevin went golfing with Jerry, I went to tea with Shirley, Heather, and Jerry's sister and mom....so much fun! I had never been to tea before. Another day we went to Bass Lake and visited Yosemite some more. It was such an awesome trip! It would be a great place to visit in the winter too.
